A steady theme of the mentoring process is that the MENTEE is the driver; he or she has to apply the mentoring experiences and engage the new learning opportunities. But having a picture of success, an ultimate destination, a developmental path–that’s critical! Mentees need a vision that has 3 key attributes:
—a clear sense of direction
—a true sense of innovation
—a heightened sense of destiny
Such a vision captures the Mentee’s heart and mind and provides the energy needed to drive through to the goal!
